Irish guitarist Gary Moore left his previous band called Skid Row in 1972. (When Gary Moore joined Skid Row in the late 60's, the band featured a young singer by the name of Phil Lynott, who would soon after leave the group to double up on bass and form Thin Lizzy.) The same year (1972) Gary fomed his own outfit - The Gary Moore Band. Beside Gary Moore, who played guitar and sang, the band featured drummer Pearse Kelly, guitarist Philip Donnelly and bassist John Curtis and they recorded their debut album Grinding Stone in 1973.
