In January 2009, Nick Hayward (Vocals/Keys) in a freak accident at home, almost severed his right arm completely, bar one nerve, through the elbow joint. After extensive surgery, and with no feeling or movement in his lower arm he began a year of rehabilitation away from work. A huge part of this rehabilitation was music, and with this spare time, The Essential Tremor was born. Named after searching for a medical term surrounding the nervous system
