Craig Snape, AKA The Doomsday Device, really gets the whole post-punk, mid-eighties british underground sound. The self-released Mr Doomsday certainly pays homage to the likes of The Chameleons, The Stranglers, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Teardrop Explodes - yet does this in a very fresh and contemporary way. Occasionally, with tracks like Crazy, Craig introduces a whispery and melancholy homage to 60s psychedelia similar to Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd yet weaving in some very fresh Joy Division/New Order keyboards. Tasty indeed.
