The Diamond Five (1957 to 1964, originally briefly named The Diamonds) were a popular Dutch hard-bop jazz band based at the Sheherazade Jazz Club in Amsterdam. The band comprised of John Engels (drums), Cees Slinger (piano), Harry Verbeke (sax), Cees Smal (trumpet) and Jacques Schols (bass). The disbanded quintet went on to successfully individually lead and feature in other jazz bands (e.g. Jacques Schols leads the The Ramblers) as well as still playing together as circumstances permitted.
