Starting as a few acoustic experiments, "The Death Letter" was born from a mutual admiration for blues, country and raw acoustic based music. Influences ranging between the early blues of Charly Patton, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf, the dark gothic country of 16 Horsepower, Those Poor Bastards and Hank III, and the raw experimentation of Tom Waits, Scott Kelly and Clutch. "The Death Letter" plays music stripped down to nothing but the raw sounds of one instrument and one voice.
