The Catchelorettes are an all girl folk-punk band from Chicago, Ill. Their influences range from Elliot Smith to the Mr. T Experience. All the members of the Catchelorettes met while performing in the Power Pop Ensemble at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. The Catchelorettes got their name from a combination of the terms "Cat Lady" and "Bachelorette." Although their songs cover a range of topics including American mass media and psychological experiments, the vast majority of their songs are about boys.
