There are two Bands called The Cakes. 1) post-punk band from Stoke-on-Trent 2) punk rock from Elmshorn (Germany) 1. The first are a post-punk band from Stoke-on-Trent, who someone once wrote "make fun songs and catchy tunes" and someone else, "short, sharp shots of urgent indie rock pop with plenty of hooks", and another person "edgy, acerbic and a darn sight more original than their somewhat distracting cake compulsion." The cake compulsion has become a bacon compulsion; one band member even suggested changing their name to The Cake Bacons.
