About The Butterflies
The Butterflies zijn een Amersfoorts duo, bestaande uit de broers Luc en Godert van Colmjon. Ze zijn vooral bekend van de hits 'Dixieland' en 'Willem, Word Wakker'. Biografie The Butterflies breken in augustus 1956 door met het nummer 'Dixieland', een Nederlandse bewerking van 'Muskrat Ramble' van Louis Armstrong & His Hot Five. Godert van Colmjon en Luc van Colmjon zijn dan respectievelijk 12 en 17 jaar oud. Omdat Godert een stuk kleiner is dan Luc, staat hij bij optredens vaak op een kistje.
