There are at least five bands named The Brood. 1. The Brood was a crossover thrash band from Los Angeles, CA., United States, that would (after one album as The Brood) change its name to Uncle Slam. The band was formed in 1984 when guitar player Jon Nelson and drummer Amery Smith quit Suicidal Tendencies to form a band with former Neighborhood Watch bass player John Flitcraft and guitar player Todd Moyer. Nelson took care of the vocal duties in The Brood with a little help from Moyer, who sang on a few songs.
