About The Booma Rockers
The Booma Rockers were a London house-band put together by a young producer and songwriter from Guyana, Terry Nelson aka Omar Farouk. Nelson released approximately thirty 45s on his labels Halagala, Booma and Rude Boy in the late 1960s and early 1970s before returning home to Guyana to start a successful and well loved TV station. The majority of the records were of the ska and rocksteady persuasion but one or two stick out as being slightly different.
