About The Awk Word
The Awk Word is a 5 man band that combines elements from funk, reggae, jazz, rock and ska into one solid groove. The band was founded in 2009 in Utrecht in order to perform at CMV's Onder de Vloer. The band consists of Merijn van Beusekom (vocals), Joeri van Veenendaal (vocals, raps and melodica), Tim Laagland (guitar), Tom Raaff (drums and vocals) and Wessel Fledderus (bass and vocals). Tom and Wessel also played together in Quiver of Ashes.
