The 40 Watt Banana were a unique band who formed in Wellington New zealand in 1968 and were performing and recording a brand of psychedelic experimental indo-jazz fusion that has been recently released by the Spanish re-issue label Pharaway Sounds. The curious thing about this story is that it’s an album that started with the release of an esoteric single called ‘Nirvana’ released by HMV in 1971 and produced by the late Peter Dawkins. The other tracks on the 'Peeled' album were unreleased studio demos.
