About Tempered Steel
More than one artist uses the name Tempered Steel. (1) is an improvisational trio from Seattle. (2) US metal band from Utah. (1) Tempered Steel is the trio of Dennis Rea, Frank Junk, and Ffej, three denizens of the Seattle jazz/rock/improv scene, all playing mbiras, kalimbas, and thumb pianos run through a variety of electronic effects. All of their music is improvised. They recorded a CD in 2007, but it was not released until 2012 on Rea's Nunatak label.
