About Sweet Children
Two artists have gone this name: 1.) Sweet Children was the original name of Green Day that was formed by Raj Punjabi (drums, percussion, backing vocals) Mike Dirnt (rhythm and lead guitar, backing vocals) and Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, piano, harmonica). Punjabi left and was replaced by John Kiffmeyer (who went by the stage name Al Sobrante). The band kept the name for a short time after Tré Cool joined in 1990 before switching to Green Day.
