About Sunrise Before Dawn
The story of Sunrise Before Dawn began in 2002, with a band named Alight, based in Boston, MA. With the unconventional instrumentation of piano, cello, and vocals, Alight started by playing coffee-house covers of jazz and rock songs in a style that reflected their classical music training. In late 2005, Tracey, the primary force behind Alight, relocated to New Jersey. With the blessing of (and occasional collaboration with) her former bandmates, she reinvented Alight as a solo project, renamed Sunrise Before Dawn.
