Named after an area of reported paranormal activity in the Iraqi desert, Sunk Field L. plays a style know as paranormal doom, taking elements from genres such as doom metal, noise, sludge, drone, ambient, and jazz. Most recordings are improvised, though they do contain some riffs and ideas composed beforehand. Instruments used range from the common set of drums, guitars, and basses, to the piano, electric violin, cello, microwave oven, and sometimes power tools.
