About Stylites
Stylites started out as the solo musical venture of Samuel Drower back in 2006, making purely electronic orientated compositions, but the sound and style quickly evolved to become more organic and guitar based. The name 'Stylites' descends from the Greek word 'style', meaning pillar. The Stylites, also known as Pillar Saints, were solitaries who, taking up their abode upon the tops of pillars, chose to spend their days amid the restraints thus entailed and in the exercise of other forms of asceticism.
