Strawhead was a British folk band formed in Preston in 1974 by Chris Pollington (keyboard, midi horn, accordion, guitar), Gregg Butler (vocals, cornett, cittern, recorder, keyed bugle, ophicleide, euphonium), Malcolm Gibbons (vocals, 12-string guitar, laúd), with Alison Younger as occasional vocalist. The band specialised in historical British music of the 16th to 19th centuries (including popular songs from the English Civil War era to the Victorian period) performed on period and electronic instruments.
