Stickdog was an Iowa City-based Industrial band whose music was innovative and progressive. Their sound was eerie and haunting, with complex layers of dissonant melodies and tribal rhythms. You could compare them to early Sonic Youth or Savage Republic. After playing in Iowa City in 1986-87, the members of Stickdog moved to San Francisco, where they were signed to Alternative Tentacles Records. They released one full-length album, Human (VIRUS 64), on Alternative Tentacles in 1988. They broke up shortly thereafter.
