
Steven Fromholz (June 8, 1945 – January 19, 2014) was an American entertainer, singer and songwriter who was selected as the Poet Laureate of Texas for 2007. Born in Temple, Texas, Fromholz attended the University of North Texas where he was president of the Folk Music Club. Fromholz began performing while he was serving in the United States Navy during the 1960s. After leaving the Navy, he teamed with Dan McCrimmon to create the group Frummox.
