
About Stephen Chatman
Stephen Chatman is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory (BMus) and the University of Michigan (MM, DMA). He is the recipient of many awards in composition, including a Fulbright Grant, an MB Rockefeller Fund grant, a Dorothy Somerset Award, and the Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The first Canadian ever short-listed in the BBC Masterprize competition (Tara's Dream, 2001), he is also the only North American to have won three consecutive BMI Awards to Student Composers.
