Stephanie Machan, born August 14 1990, started out singing in private and school choirs as well as private voice lessons at the age of 10. Although she trained in classical, opera, and jazz, her original songs are mellow ballads in minor and eerie keys. In January of 2008, she was invited by the Everett Chorale and Everett Symphony to sing the soprano solo "Pie Jesu" by Gabriel Faure, but since then has taken a break to compose her own songs. Some say her music is reminiscent of PJ Harvey and Portishead.
