Static Brown (b. Umer Irshad) is a music producer and DJ who started out composing and producing in ambient and soundtrack music. He later transitioned to a hip-hop influenced sound, drawing inspiration from jazz, neo-soul, funk, and electronic genres. Umer comes from Orange County, California and is also an aspiring artist/painter, although getting his degree in aerospace engineering. Some of his major inspirations are J Dilla, Madlib, 9th Wonder
