Changing between electronic beats, clicks and cuts and pop songwriting he released various CD-Rs before his debut album Once Upon A Time on Schinderwies. Since 2005 Christian Schnall´s longtime friend and musical advisor Christian "Pacult" Winklhofer joined the lineup. SPRUCE´s music is often referred to as Dreampop or Shoegaze and Bands like Slowdive or My Bloody Valentine.
