Speech Machine is a progressive, alternative rock band from Seattle, Washington. The band consists of Martin Charlebois, Ben Smith, and guest musicians. Leading the band is singer/songwriter/guitarist Martin Charlebois, and on drums is, the drummer for rock band Heart, Ben Smith. Speech Machine started in 2005 and has since released four full-length albums. The debut album, Curious Punishments of Bygone Days, was released in 2006. The album is defined by acoustic guitar, soft melodies, and dark key changes.
