
Specs Hildebrand (real name: Theo van Scherpenseel, born 16 August 1950) is a Dutch singer-songwriter from the town of Volendam, The Netherlands. Although his work is primarily country-rooted, he is considered by many to be part of Volendam's palingsound ('eel sound') scene. Van Scherpenseel played in seventies bands such as Jen Rog (around 1975) and Canyon (around 1977) and started his solo recording career in 1975, with the album File Under Popular (1975).
