About Speak Bear
Speak Bear was started by 18-year-old Brooke Strimple and 16-year-old David Eitle in November 2009. They originally called themselves Oceaniac after typo in Brooke's lyrics, but Brooke decided she liked Speak Bear better after a conversation with a friend. Being that Speak Bear is mainly Brooke's brain child, David went along with it. They list themselves as progressive and post-hardcore, drawing influences from At the Drive-In, The Mars Volta, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Portugal.
