About Sonny Boy Mick
Taking on the nickname that his parents gave him as a child, singer/songwriter Steve McPhail first picked up the guitar at the age of 11. It wasn't long after that he knew that music would be his lifelong love. Growing up in the Northern Ontario town of Sault Ste. Marie, he was singing in school festivals, teaching guitar and playing professional gigs by the age of 15. It was here that he had his first taste of playing in front of 5000 seat arena shows opening up for Ted Nugent.
