Socially Ill was a solo project formed in Perkinston, Mississippi by Brinley Woodall; during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic's social distancing measures and the artist's socially anxious nature, they started the solo project. Inspired by the 90s grunge rock movement and the past to present Southern California indie and punk scenes, their influences range from bands like Green Day, Nirvana, Metallica, Ultra Q, and Grumpster. Socially Ill's first EP, Mental Prisoners of the Mental Prison was originally released on February 17, 2022.
