Social Oddities started in the spring of 2009 with singer/guitarist Wynton Huddle and old drummer Mary Yoder jamming in her basement, shortly followed by Matt Harris joining in by picking up and quickly learning the bass as they progressed. The name 'Social Oddities' was decided since they were all strange little kids in the school of Manheim, Pennsylvania. Fitting in yet not fitting in at all, and they fully accepted their strangeness.
