Small Craft Warning is a New York City-based "Dead-style" jam band, but they are not a cover band. They have developed an original repertoire of jam tunes which draw their inspiration from Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead - mixed with a dash of their own unique medicine, of course. The fact is that there are precious few original Dead-style jam bands out there (go ahead, name three that really fit this description). There are many Dead cover bands, and a whole generation of "groove/electronica" jam bands.
