
Sister Ernestine Washington (Ernestine Beatrice Thomas, 16 July 1914 - 1 July 1983) was an American gospel singer. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, Ernestine Washington was married to Rev. Frederick D. Washington. She recorded intensively from 1943 to 1948. In 1946 (the peak of her fame), she worked with the Bunk Johnson orchestra and with The Dixie Hummingbirds She died in 1983 in Chula Vista, California, USA
