About Sieng Vannthy
Sieng Vannthy (born on January 8th, 1948 in Prey Veng Province; died December 9th, 2009) was a Cambodian singer. Her father, So Chin, was a former comedian and her mother, Em Somrith, was a former Lakhorn Bassac performer. She had 4 sisters and a brother; she was a fourth child and her sister, Sieng Dy, was a famous singer since the mid 1950s. She was also the aunt of Yol Aularong. Sieng Vanthy attended the singing contest in early 1960 and was awarded first prize for female singers with the song “Kyol Kompul Phnom”
