About Siegfried Schmiedt
Siegfried Schmiedt (* around 1756 in Suhl ; † 1799 there) was a German composer and music editor . Schmiedt came from the Electoral Saxon official town of Suhl. In 1786 Siegfried Schmiedt became proofreader at the company Breitkopf & Härtel in the trade fair city of Leipzig . There he made mainly excerpts from several Singspiels for piano, including those by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf and August Friedrich Ernst Langbein . Schmiedt also published some of his own works in print.
