Shirley Eikhard (born Shirley Rose Eikhard n Sackville, New Brunswick, on 7 November 1955; died 15 December 2022) was a Canadian singer-songwriter. The daughter of a Canadian East Coast fiddle player, Eikhard was playing music at an early age and was signed to Capitol Records at age 14. At the age of 15 she wrote an instrumental song, "Pickin' My Way" that was recorded by Chet Atkins. Her work was soon being covered by artists like Anne Murray, whose recording of "It Takes Time" helped put Eikhard on the map.
