She is married to George Matthew Jr., College Carillonneur of Middlebury College and Norwich University. She studied classical piano and business administration at SUNY Fredonia, New York from 1987 to 1991. She finished her undergraduate degree with honors at Green Mountain College, Poultney, VT in 2007, with her primary instrument being the pipe organ.
