About Sharmistha Sen
(b. 1942) Sharmistha Sen is a sitarist and a rarity in that female instrumentalists in Indian classical music are still somewhat uncommon. Her early training was under Mushtaq Ali Khan and D.T. Joshi and her later training was under Prof. Debu Chaudhuri. She is presently a faculty member of Daulat Ram College at Dehli University.
