About Shams Ensemble
The Shams Ensemble is a musical group that performs Sufi, Kurdish folk and Persian traditional music with the Tanbur, Daf (frame drum), Ney and various other percussion instruments. The Shams Ensemble was established by Keikhosro Pournazeri's efforts in 1977 in Kermānshāh, Iran. He invited some of his students who were famaliar with playing Tenbur and gradually, obtaining knowledge and experience in playing and playing in band, they became well known Tenbur players.
