About ScalinE
Started 1993 in Berlin as a duo then called eel and composed of D. Calin (writing, lyrics, zithers, voice) and Mike ‘Miguel’ (guitars, bass, drums, special effects). Became a solo project around 2000 - when Mike left - and was thus renamed scalene, and later ScalinE. The main originality of the band/project is the unusual use of the kokle (a Baltic/Nordic kind of zither) in minimalistic compositions.
