Intrepid traffickers in kinky cosmopolitan art-pop, Santa Carla tinker away on the edges of the Liverpool music scene, dreaming of a paradise beyond the hard-house lock-ins of club 05-whatever, the calculated sloppiness of Cosmic Scouse and the neolithic idiocy of cock-rock revivalists… Brought together by their mutual appreciation of the Beatles, XTC, Todd Rundgren and Brian Wilson, Santa Carla have been trafficking their finely-crafted art-pop on the fringes of the Liverpool circuit for just over 2 years.
