About Sami Hawat
Sami Hawat is a Lebanese artist. He was born in Jbeil, in 1956. He is a musician and singer. He is considered as a pioneer of the political song in the Arab world and a strong advocate of committed art. He studied solfege at the Higher Institute of Music in Lebanon. Then, he specialized in composition and singing. He mainly composed songs for children. He started his professional artistic career in 1974. Indeed, he started with his friend Ziad Rahbani and they collaborated together until 1985.
