Sally’s first professional work as a vocalist came in the form of a session with popular act Saint Etienne in 1990. Sally’s confidence continued to grow as she worked with a variety of live bands until she met dance duo Surge in 1997. After writing and recording together for just a couple months, Millennium Records expressed interest in the trio’s work and eventually released Cold air, a Surge/ Strawberry original. Their cover of Gershwin’s Summertime was also released as a single and on a number of dance compilations.
