
Saeid Shanbehzadeh is an acclaimed Afro‑Iranian musician, dancer and ethnomusicologist from Bushehr, southwestern Iran. Tracing his ancestry to Zanzibar, he began learning percussion, vocal forms and traditional dance in his hometown at age seven under local masters. In 1990 he founded the Shanbehzadeh Ensemble, dedicating himself to reviving and innovating the Persian Gulf’s creole musical heritage—blending neyanbān (Iranian bagpipe), neydjofti (double flute)
