
Born in Buga, Valle, on April 17, 1942, the master Ruth Marulanda Salazar is, without a doubt, a pioneer in the performance of Colombian Andean music on piano. Her classical training has allowed her to delve into the popular sounds of the bambuco, the corridor, the waltzes and the dances with unique skill and sensitivity. The pianist began her studies in her homeland with professor Carmen Vicaría de Escobar and later, based in Bogotá, she would enter the Conservatory of the National University
