Chavarría Muqru, Roque Jacinto de. Sucre (formerly La Plata) (Bolivia), 1688 – 8.XII.1719. Musician, composer. Roque Jacinto de Chavarría Muqru was the out-of-wedlock son of a Creole and a mestizo. At the age of seven he began as a child of six in the musical chapel of the cathedral of La Plata, under the direction of the great Spanish musician Juan de Araujo (or Arauxo). With extraordinary liveliness for music, he joined the musical chapel as an instrumentalist, being named interim harpist and bass player.
