
Roger Redgate is a British composer, conductor and improvisor. He was born in Bolton, Lancashire. He graduated at the Royal College of Music, where he won prizes for composition, violin performance, harmony and counterpoint. A DAAD scholarship enabled him to study with Brian Ferneyhough and Klaus Huber in Freiburg. From 1984 and 1994 he was a member of the Composers Forum at the Darmstadt summer school, where he received the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis for composition in 1988.
