
Togolese singer, songwriter, and musician, born 1952 in Aného (région maritime), Togo in West Africa. Also known as the 'James Brown of Lomé' and backed by the Les As Du Bénin band, Roger is widely considered one of the most influential figures of the 1970's African funk scene. He is considered 'The king of Gazo' (gazo being a traditional Togolese rhythm) and is one of the most popular singers in the country.
