Initially based in Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom, The Majority released a stack of unsuccessful singles for Decca before acting as [aetist]Barry Ryan's backing band, receiving their first label credit with him on his huge hit 'Eloise'. By the end of the 1960s they'd relocated to France, where they became known as Majority One. Under that moniker they released a strong of singles on the continent, as well as one self-titled album. None of these records were releases in their native United Kingdom.
