One of the most significant struggles that can determine the success of a band is identifying a unique and comfortable sound that appeals to both the band as well as a number of audiences. Rising City States is a band that has experienced everything from multiple line up changes, to shifts in musical direction that have defined who they are today. Back in 2008, vocalist Mike Vieira, drummer Joel Desroches, guitarists Andrew Hillier and Jon Gervan were in the process of rebuilding a project, formally known as Letting Go of Yesterday.
