Rhythm Activism, 'the band', was co-founded by Sylvain Cote and Norman Nawrocki in 1985 as a simple poetry/music ensemble. Eventually, Rhythm Activism could be found working with up to 45 other artists on the same stage in highly politicized, theatrical, musical productions. One of their specialties is good-time 'resistance culture'. They have a long history of working with grassroots, community groups to produce funny but hard-hitting songs and family theme shows about social justice.
